1. Begin with a free in-home visit to describe our process, tour your current home, and give you an estimate of the cost of your move.
2. We visit your new community to get the floor plan, measure interior walls, and digitally photograph each room, closets, storage areas, and kitchen.
3. We create a custom floor plan for you using a furniture planning kit with scaled furniture templates. You select the furniture you want to take and we place a corresponding template on your floor plan to make sure everything will fit.
4. We schedule 2-hour sorting sessions – depending on the amount of help you need – and work room by room, to help you decide what to move and what to give to family, sell, or donate. (We help you sell extra items and schedule donation pick-ups.)
5. We coordinate with our moving company affiliate – set the date, time and size of crew to best facilitate your move.
6. We professionally pack your belongings using special boxes (which we provide) for dishes, collectibles, artwork, books and clothes.
7. On Moving Day, we oversee the movers – guide furniture placement, unpack boxes and organize your belongings.
8. We resettle your new home! Hang pictures, set up your lamps, make your bed, set your clocks, hook up computer and TV, and arrange collectibles. We remove and recycle the packing materials.
9. After the move, we can help you arrange for an Estate Sale, using a professional dealer to assess and price household items and conduct the sale for you.
